This project was completed in 2020 and subsequently won an international award.
The home, in Ceres near Geelong, includes an autonomous residence and farm, built in harmony with the surrounding environment. It features angled walls, concrete slab surfaces inside, incredible natural light and ventilation, and a design that makes the most of the north exposure.
The home and land is also incredibly sustainable, with 30kw solar panels with batteries to power the house, farm and vehicles, 80,000 litres of water tanks and two large existing dams. Over 3500 native trees and flowers were planted to rehabilitate the soil and provide an income for the farm. Combined, all the features of the home and the farm contribute to zero emissions.
Our Flex a Seal team was honoured to be part of such an extraordinary building process, providing vital waterproofing to terraces, balconies and bathrooms for the project.
