During the early stages of designing a contemporary house in Bulleen, eastern Melbourne, Ric Day Landscaping asked Flex A Seal for assistance. An organic water feature was to be the centrepiece of the entrance hall, and help was needed with functional aspects of its design.
We collaborated with Ric Day Landscaping and Level Architekture (email@example.com) to determine the best solution, before our experienced tradespeople implemented the proven Flex A Seal tanking system. This low-maintenance, premium tanking surface was used to line the water feature as it provides a safe environment for fish and plant life, while its ceramic-like finish prevents unwanted moss growth.
The water feature is a great success: guests are welcomed into the home through an inviting, unusual entrance hall. A six metre high, glassed atrium roof provides light and ventilation for the pond’s inhabitants, with a ‘bamboo island’ serving as the dramatic feature. (Specialised tanking and root-containment treatment were necessary to ensure long-term integrity.)
A team of specialists was needed for this job, and Flex A Seal was fortunate to have been part of this collaboration. We continue to work with these colleagues when our expertise is required.
